Digital Desk: The argument around extramarital affairs is never-ending. However, extramarital affairs are not prohibited in India, at least according to the law. But who engages in extramarital affairs? What motivates individuals to do it? However, the answers to these issues are not simple. A research from a Spanish university gives some insight on who is more likely to engage in extramarital affairs. According to the study, which was headed by researcher Miguel Clement, persons with 'narcissism' are more prone to engage in extramarital relationships on a regular basis. In psychology, narcissism is typically characterized by excessive self-aggrandizement, pride, and a lack of empathy for others. "People with dark personality traits might readily develop short-term relationships, the primary reason for this is because such expectations from a prospective spouse are really low. Men are more prone to this tendency." Miguel states.
