Digital Desk: During the celebration of Magh Bihu, a violent incident of assault at Taltala of Satgaon, Guwahati shocked everyone. A family of three was assaulted by their neighbors at Satgaon. The family of Rubul Saikia was attacked by three accused identified as Saurav Ali, Ruksana Begum, and Sahid Ali.
Rubul Saikia, his wife Pompi Saikia, and their daughter were reportedly assaulted by the three people.
The victims said that the three people attacked them without any reason on the first day of Magh Bihu. The attackers also vandalized Rubul Saikia's two-wheeler.
The accused were arrested by the Satgaon police following an FIR by the victims. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening and they demanded a fair investigation into the matter.
The residents of Guwahati have been witnessing a significant increase in crime rates in the last few years. Police have reported an upsurge in cybercrime cases, while crime against women has increased. From incidents of gang rapes to women stabbed to death during broad daylight has shocked everyone. Multiple cases of thieves snatching gold chains were reported in the police stations.
