The senior BJP leader reportedly dragged the girl into a room and then proceeded to sexually attack her.....

Digital desk: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually abusing a teenage girl.

The police in Bengaluru's Sadashivanagar charged the senior BJP leader based on a complaint made by the mother of the 17-year-old girl.

Police sources claim that on February 2, when the child and her mother went to meet the 81-year-old leader to get help with a cheating issue, the girl was sexually molested.

According to the reports, the senior BJP leader reportedly dragged the girl into a room and then proceeded to sexually attack her, as stated in the FIR. She notified her mother about the alleged assault once she was able to escape.

The office of Mr. Yediyurappa denied the accusations and charges and made public a record of previous cases that the complainant has filed. The list contains 53 distinct complaints.

The complaint has been rejected by the leader's office, suggesting that the teenager frequently files complaints.

In 2007, BS Yediyurappa led Karnataka as chief minister for seven days. Then, from 2008 to 2011, he served as the state's top official for three days in May 2018, and again from July 2019 until July 2021.
