Digital Desk: In a major crackdown, police at Sontoli in South Kamrup apprehended five notorious kidnappers in connection with an abduction case registered at the Noonmati Police Station in Guwahati.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Abu Zubair Akand, Sajid Ali, Haidar Ali, Rekibul Alamin, and Nur Islam.  


They are currently in the custody of Noonmati Police.


The group allegedly abducted Sanidul Ali and his brother-in-law Imdaul Haque from Mathgharia using a Swift vehicle.


The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh for their release.


When the ransom was not paid, the victims were taken to a forest area and assaulted.


Following a successful operation, Noonmati Police rescued both Sanidul and Imdaul from Sontoli and took the five suspects into custody.
