Digital Desk: The cash-strapped private aviation line Go First extended its flying restriction until July 6, 2023, citing operational reasons, on June 29. It was the firm's 12th time carrying on the extension.
Previously, Go First had ceased operations until June 30.
"Due to operational reasons, Go First flights until July 6, 2023, are cancelled. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and request customers to visit http://shorturl.at/jlrEZ for more information. For any queries or concerns, please feel free to contact us." The company stated this in a tweet.
On Wednesday, the company presented a detailed strategy for its rebirth to the Directorate of General Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The meeting was held by the resolution specialist with DGCA representatives to discuss the revision plan, and it is to be informed that the meeting lasted for about two and a half hours.
According to a GoFirst statement, "Resolution Professionals assured DGCA that there would be enough pilots and ground staff to resume operations."
A GoFirst representative reported to ANI that the company's "resumption plan proposes to operate GoFirst from maximum airports, flying over 70 routes with roughly 160 daily flights."
Go First filed for voluntary bankruptcy in May with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), blaming Pratt & Whitney, a US-based engine manufacturer, for its inability to fulfil its obligations promptly, which resulted in the forced grounding of a portion of its inventory.
