Police suspect a possible love-related angle in the incident
Digital Desk: A first-year B.Sc Nursing student died under mysterious circumstances at the Dispur Nursing Institute in Guwahati’s Basistha prompting a police investigation.
The incident occurred at Hostel No. 19 of the Dispur Nursing Institute, where the student allegedly took an extreme step. The deceased has been identified as Merina Ahmed, a resident of Nagarbera.
Merina was a first-year B.Sc Nursing student at the institute. Notably, the Dispur Nursing Institute is scheduled to hold its annual function today.
According to sources, Merina had been rehearsing for a cultural programme on Thursday evening. However, the exact cause of her death remains unclear.
Police suspect a possible love-related angle in the incident. A suicide note has been recovered, in which the name of a boy identified as Mustak has been mentioned. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death.
