Both are from South Sikkim, with 5 bundles of  Rs.500

Digital Desk: On Oct 19, 2024, in Guwahati, two individuals from Sikkim were caught with fake notes worth Rs. 1.5 lakh by the WGPD team of Gorchuk Police Station. The police team through trusted sources got information about the Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) scam taking place which led to the arrest.

The team arrested Purna Mani Ray (35) & Ram Kumar Khati (51), both from South Sikkim, with 5 bundles of  Rs.500 comprising 300 currency notes and two mobile phones.

To combat situations like these in the future the police authority has begun their legal operation against the fake currency racket, as it disrupts the economic conditions of the area. The main aim is to bust the root source of this network behind fake currency circulation.
