Guwahati : Wishing the people of Guwahati on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu, Guwahati Police extended its greetings and a press release, reporting zero accidents on the night of Uruka on January 13, 2022. The city police, even though were present and enforcing the rules on the streets of Guwahati, saw less cases of any traffic or covid protocol violations. Yet, the city police managed to catch hold of few violators and a total fine of Rs 11,52,000 was collected from the violators. The details have been listed below:- Drunken Driving Cases – 48 Without Helmet – 58 No seatbelt – 22 Total MV Act Violations – 596 “We wish everyone a great future and reiterate that we will continue working to ensure that the vision of the Hon’ble CM for a safe and secure Assam becomes a constant reality,” said Guwahati Police in the press release as reported.
