Digital Desk: The Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People's Front (BPF) has achieved a resounding victory in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, securing 28 council seats and paving the way to form the next council.


As per the results announced by the Assam State Election Commission, the BPF claimed 28 seats, while Pramod Boro-led United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) won 7 seats, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 5 seats.


Meanwhile, the Congress failed to secure a single seat in this election.


The BPF increased its seat count from the 17 it secured last time, achieving an absolute majority.


The election for the 40-member council, representing the five districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, and Tamulpur, was held on Monday, and counting of votes took place on Friday and continued until the early hours of Saturday.
