He expressed confidence that Suren Phukan would win the Digboi constituency
Digital Desk: Today at 3:09PM, Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Digboi and participated in an election campaign rally in support of BJP candidate Suren Phukan.
The Chief Minister addressed the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp Sabha held at the Digboi Jubilee Playground, where he campaigned extensively for the party candidate ahead of the Assembly elections.
During his address, Sarma criticised the Congress, stating that the people of Assam would not be influenced by inducements such as blankets and other items. He expressed confidence that Suren Phukan would win the Digboi constituency by a margin of 40,000 votes.
Highlighting the party’s promises, the Chief Minister said that if the BJP forms the government, it will provide two lakh jobs and extend an additional 15 lakh beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme. He also announced plans to increase financial assistance under the Orunodoi and old-age pension schemes.
