Digital Desk: Today, a gruesome  murder has shaken the people of  temple town of Hajo, Assam  after a man allegedly killed his wife in the early hours of  5th May. The incident took place in No. 2 Khopni Kuchi locality, where the accused, identified as Mozammil Ali, allegedly attacked his second wife, Habija Khatun, with a sharp weapon, fatally slashing her throat before fleeing the scene.


As per  preliminary reports, the couple had been facing ongoing domestic disputes, which are believed to have led to the crime. Mozammil Ali had allegedly been subjecting Habija Khatun to physical abuse over a prolonged period. On 4th May’s  night, another heated argument broke out between the two, which escalated into the fatal attack in the early morning hours.


At the time of the incident, the couple’s minor, a  seven-year-old son was present at the scene. His cries alerted their neighbors , who rushed to the house and found Habija Khatun lying in a pool of blood on the bed.


Soon after, police from Hajo Police Station, along with a magistrate, arrived at the scene and initiated a preliminary investigation. The accused husband remains absconding, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
