Digital Desk: In a brutal incident in the early hours of the morning at No. 2 Khoponikuchi, Janarpar, a man identified as Mozammil Ali allegedly murdered his second wife, Habija Khatun.
Reports indicate that Ali attacked her repeatedly with a sharp weapon, eventually slitting her throat before fleeing the scene and leaving her blood-soaked body on the bed.
The couple had reportedly been embroiled in long-standing domestic disputes, with prior allegations of physical abuse against the wife.
A heated argument on Monday night is suspected to have been the reason behind the fatal attack.
The couple's seven-year-old son was present in the house during the incident.
His cries alerted local residents, who rushed to the scene and recovered Habija Khatun's lifeless body.
Hajo police and a magistrate have since arrived at the location to initiate a preliminary investigation.
The accused husband is currently absconding, and police have launched a search operation to apprehend him.
