observed a small decrease in daily Covid instances with 9,111 new cases since
last Thursday, when it recorded above 10,000 cases. Meanwhile, the Union Health
Ministry reported 27 deaths in the previous 24 hours on Monday.
According to the data
updated at 8 a.m., six deaths were reported from Gujarat, four from Uttar
Pradesh, three each from Delhi and Rajasthan, two from Maharashtra, one each
from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu,
and three reconciled by Kerala.
The daily positivity rate was 8.40 percent,
and the weekly positivity rate was 4.94 percent.
According to figures from the Union Health Ministry, the number
of active patients has risen to 60,313 with a total death toll of 5,31,141. The
total number of Covid cases was 4.47 crore (4,48,27,226).
According to the ministry's figures, active cases now account
for 0.13 percent of total infections. The national Covid-19 recovery rate has
been calculated to be 98.68%.
The number of persons who have recovered from the sickness has
risen to 4,42,35,772, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent.
Currently, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been
administered in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
