Digital Desk: India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in their third game of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad owing to a dominating performance with the ball and the bat.

India, which was chasing a paltry 192 to win, sped up to the goal thanks to half-centuries from captain Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer at the largest cricket venue in the world.

India won the match for the third time in a row thanks in large part to Rohit, who top-scored with 86 off 63 balls and Iyer, who remained undefeated on xx. With this victory, the Men in Blue improved to 8-0 all-time against Pakistan in ODI World Cup matches.

But the Indian bowlers set up the game by dismissing Pakistan for 191, the second-lowest total ever against their neighbours in ODI World Cup history.

The bowlers supported Rohit's choice to bowl first after winning the toss as they applied pressure to Pakistan and caused a collapse from 155 for 2 to 191 all out.

To cap off a nearly flawless bowling effort for the home team, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav each claimed two wickets.

In the following round of the competition, India will play Bangladesh, and Pakistan will compete against five-time champions Australia.
