Trisha's all-round performance helped India to retain the World Cup Crown............


Digital Desk: India secured its second consecutive U19 women's T20 World Cup title after beating South Africa in the final on Sunday at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. India thrashed South Africa by 9 wickets to defend the World Cup title.


Coming to bat first, South Africa suffered a batting collapse. At the end of the 4th over, South Africa could put just 20/2 on the scoreboard. Opener Jemma Botha scored 16(14), while Mieke van Voorst was the top-scorer for South Africa with 23 runs. 


Chasing the target of 83, India defeated South Africa in just 11.2 overs with 52 balls to spare. India's Gangadi Trisha scored a brilliant 44 off 33 balls while Sanika Chalke contributed an unbeaten 26 runs off 22 balls.

Leading the Indian bowling side, Trisha took 3 wickets. Vaishnavi Sharma, Aayushi Shukla, and Parunika Sisodia took 2 wickets each. 

India's all-round display helped to win the U19 Women's World Cup crown for the second time in a row. Gongadi Trisha won the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards for her outstanding performance in the tournament. She contributed 309 runs and clinched seven wickets in the 2nd edition of the U19 T20 Women's World Cup.

India were the champion in the inaugural edition of the U19 Women's World Cup in 2023 after defeating England by seven wickets in the final.
