After her wedding ceremonies, Bindu will also be departing for a two-week honeymoon in Goa.

Digital Desk: The place and date for the 24-year-old Kshama Bindu's wedding are arranged. The vows have been penned in advance for the big day. Only her spouse is absent, but that won't be a problem as Bindu, who originates from Gujarat's Vadodara, plans to marry herself.

The wedding, set for June 11, will include all rituals and ceremonies, including pheras and sindoor application.

Bindu described her wedding, which is thought to be the first case of self-marriage or 'sologamy' in Gujarat, as an act of self-love. In an interview, she stated, "I had no desire to get married. But I want to be a  bride. So, I decided to marry myself."

Further, she added that she did a lot of research online but couldn't locate any other cases of sologamy in the country. "Perhaps I am the first in our country to set an example of self-love," she said.

"Self-marriage is a vow to be there for yourself and unconditional love for oneself. It's an act of self-acceptance.  People marry the person they adore. I adore myself, so I'm getting married," the bride-to-be said.

"I am genuinely trying to express that women matter,"  Bindu said, addressing those who may dismiss the self-wedding as a joke.

Bindu, who works for a private firm, also stated that her parents supported her decision. The bride has written five vows to herself in addition to following all of the rituals. After her wedding ceremonies, Bindu will also be departing for a two-week honeymoon in Goa.
