Digital Desk: Assam Police on Thursday questioned famous YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and recorded his statement in a case regarding the recent controversy of promoting obscenity on an online show titled 'India's Got Latent.' The famous content creator appeared before the Crime Branch along with his advocate. After recording his statement, he was allowed to go. Meanwhile, Ashish's legal team filed a petition to dismiss the FIR or transfer it to Mumbai. 

Speaking to reporters, Guwahati Police Joint Commissioner Ankur Jain said, "Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Crime Branch today and cooperated in the interrogation. He was allowed to go after questioning, although he will not be called again at this time. But the officers can call him back if needed."

Mr Jain also added that the other accused who did not respond to the summons, would receive new notices soon.  

Earlier on February 10, the Guwahati Police registered an FIR against Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, and Jaspreet Singh over their obscene remarks on the YouTube show. 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also posted on X, "Today @GuwahatiPol has registered an FIR against certain YouTubers and social influencers, namely Shri Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina and others for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in a show titled 'India's Got Latent.'"
