The first phase took place from February 12-15 which aimed at detecting water pipeline weaknesses.

Digital Desk: Guwahati Jal Board has announced a temporary suspension of water supply in all areas under its jurisdiction from March 2 to March 5 as part of the phased robotic survey in the city. During four days, the household water supply will be interrupted, authorities informed on Thursday.

Hours after a water pipeline burst in the Pandu area, the Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board (GMDW&SB) issued the notice regarding the second phase of the robotic survey. The recent pipeline burst caused significant damage in the nearby areas.

Issuing a notice, GMDW&SB said, "Water supply will be interrupted across all areas under Guwahati Jal Board's jurisdiction from March 2 to March 5, owing to the continuation of the robotic survey of our clear water pumping main pipeline. The first phase of the same has already been completed."

The water supply was suspended after the incident, and authorities said that an examination would be held to find out the reason behind the burst.

Earlier in January, another incident of pipeline burst occurred in the Kharghuli area, which damaged several shops and vehicles.

The first phase took place from February 12-15 which aimed at detecting water pipeline weaknesses.

During the Assam Assembly session on February 19, the Urban Affairs Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah answered a query and said that at least 12 weak points were detected in the first phase of the robotic survey.

The board has provided two helpline numbers to assist residents during the time of disruption-
