27 Meghalayans who travelled to Jerusalem for the Holy Pilgrimage are stranded in Bethlehem...

Digital Desk: Given the unrest between Israel and Palestine, 27 Meghalayans who travelled to Jerusalem for the Holy Pilgrimage are stranded in Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, the state government of Meghalaya is in contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to secure their safe travel.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to his X account and posted, "I am in touch with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure their safe passage back home."

In light of the rising tensions between the Israeli government and Hamas, the Indian Embassy in Israel earlier today issued a warning to Indian people living in Israel urging them to exercise caution and follow safety precautions.

The Indian Embassy in Israel posted the warning on X, formerly known as Twitter. Indian nationals living in Israel have been urged to use caution, refrain from needless travel, and stay near safety shelters in light of the current scenario.

Indian residents of Israel are urged to visit the Israel Home Front Command website or their preparedness brochure for more information, which is included in the alert.

Additionally, the embassy has provided an emergency helpline number: +97235226748.

The Indian Embassy's statement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly declared "war" after rockets fired by Hamas militants purportedly killed 22 people.

Chief Minister Sangma has assured the relatives and loved ones of the stranded pilgrims that every attempt is being made to arrange their safe transit back home, stating that their safety and well-being are of primary importance.

Furthermore, the administration is actively watching the situation and will offer updates when they occur.

The people of Meghalaya, as well as the rest of the country, are hoping for a quick and safe resolution to the current problem so that pilgrims can return home to their homes and loved ones.
