Digital Desk: A tragic incident occurred at the Baghmara picnic spot in Jorhat, where a student lost her life due to drowning.


The student, identified as Pragyashree Phukan, was a first-semester undergraduate student at Jagannath Barooah College in Jorhat.


She had visited the picnic spot early in the morning with a group of friends.


While at the location, Pragyashree went to wash her hands in a shallow section of the river.


Unfortunately, she drowned despite the water appearing to be shallow.


Her friends immediately took her to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital(JMCH).

However, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
