Digital Desk: Jorhat finished first in the 30th Assam State Aquatic Championship, which concluded today at the Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex in Sarusajai. Jorhat earned 117 medals, including 37 gold, 43 silver and 37 bronze. Kamrup (gold-25, silver-26, bronze-36) and Sivasagar (gold-25, silver-22, bronze-12) took second and third place, respectively.

In the competition, which was organized by the Assam Swimming Association, 520 swimmers from various districts of Assam competed in 144 events. This year's championship also included water polo and diving events. Eight teams (five boys' and three girls') from the Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup (Rural), Tinsukia, Jorhat, and Sivasagar districts participated in the water polo competitions. In diving, players from the Kamrup District won all of the medals.

The best swimmer awards: Boys-Tirthank Pegu (Jorhat, Group I), Nibir Hazarika (Jorhat, Group II), Subashish Bordoloi (Sivasagar, Group III) and Evon Taye Kamrup, champion in open group). Girl’s: Jahnabi Kashyap (Kamrup, Group I), Jahnavi Changmai (Kamrup, Group II), Adriza Rani Chetia (Sivasagar, Group III) and Bishakha Sarma (Kamrup , Champion in open group).
