Digital Desk: Another distressing incident of journalist harassment has occurred in Lumding, where a journalist was brutally attacked by a group of individuals.


Sujit Sarkar, also known as Hari, was attacked by a group of assailants while returning home from work.

A group of around 20 miscreants assaulted him, allegedly attempting to kill him.


As per accusations, the miscreants forcibly seized Sujit's gold chain, mobile phone, watch, and bike.


After the incident, the Lumding police arrived at the scene and detained two individuals for questioning.


The journalist was immediately rushed to the Lumding Civil Hospital. He has since filed a complaint against the miscreants at the police station.


The Lumding Press Club has strongly condemned the incident, expressing grave concern over the growing threats faced by media professionals across the state.
