Digital Desk: A woman has been arrested for her involvement in the escape of Subrata Sarkar, a prisoner from Morigaon District Jail. Morigaon police apprehended the woman, identified as Ajanta Deka from Palasung, Jagiroad.
The arrested woman had reportedly supplied materials to Subrata Sarkar to cut through iron rods.
Ajanta Deka had a long-standing relationship with Subrata Sarkar, and she frequently visited him in jail.
With her assistance, Subrata Sarkar and another prisoner, Jiyarul, planned their escape from custody.
Both escaped prisoners were recently captured by police in Karnataka.
Based on their confession, Morigaon police arrested Ajanta Deka for her role in the jailbreak.
