  • Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha's son calls for ban on Karishma Nath's Nagara group
  • Hemraj Rabha has raised allegations against Karishma of distorting Kalaguru's timeless creation
  • He urged the Assam government to ensure that the group is prohibited from performing any Nagara Naam in Assam

Digital Desk: A strong reaction has emerged against the controversial singer Karishma Nath for distorting poet, singer, writer, actor, freedom fighter, and social reformer Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha's timeless creation.

Hemaraj Rabha, the son of Kalaguru and a prominent cultural worker, raised the demand to ban this so-called singer's group.

Expressing anger on social media regarding the young singer's recent controversy involving his father, Hemraj Rabha said, "Karishma Nath has completely distorted one of Kalaguru's beloved songs for her own publicity, which is a disgrace to his legacy. Her group seems to play a crucial role in polluting the cultural world of Assam."

He added, "I urge the Assam government to ban her group immediately. The government should ensure that they are prohibited from performing any Nagara Naam in Assam."

Several allegations of distortion have been raised against Karishma Nath, who has continued to distort various popular modern Assamese songs in recent times.

Despite numerous people in the state expressing dissatisfaction against the actions of this young woman, Karishma has not paid any attention to it.

The controversy has intensified following Hemaraj Rabha's public condemnation, with many calling for decisive action to protect Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha's artistic legacy.

It will be noteworthy what role the government plays in this matter.
