CCTV footage from the Kanpur Traffic Police shows a black SUV pulling over near the accident site
Digital Desk: Nearly two days after a speeding Lamborghini hit a pedestrian and rammed multiple vehicles in an upscale area of Kanpur, new CCTV footage has shed fresh light on the incident. The visuals show bouncers stepping out of a black SUV and running towards the luxury car moments after the crash, apparently to pull the driver out.
According to eyewitness accounts and videos from the scene, Shivam Mishra, son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra, was allegedly driving the ₹10-crore .
Lamborghini Revuelto at the time of the accident. However, Mishra’s lawyer has denied the claim, asserting that Shivam was not behind the wheel. “Shivam was not driving the car; his driver Mohan was. This is an accident case, and since he was not driving, there can be no case against him,” the lawyer said.
Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal confirmed that the Lamborghini involved in the accident has been seized and an FIR has been registered. Initially, the FIR was filed against “unknown persons” on Sunday, but Shivam Mishra’s name was added the following day. “He failed to follow due procedure after the accident. The lapse amounts to negligence, and immediate action has been taken,” the Police Commissioner said on Monday.
CCTV footage from the Kanpur Traffic Police shows a black SUV pulling over near the accident site, with bouncers attempting to step out even before the vehicle came to a complete halt. At least five bouncers are seen rushing towards the Lamborghini. The incident reportedly occurred around 2 pm on 8th February.
Another video clip shows a bouncer lifting Shivam Mishra out of the Lamborghini and carrying him away, as bystanders are heard urging others to continue recording the scene.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the driver was drunk and driving the luxury car at high speed on Kanpur’s VIP Road. According to the FIR filed by Taufiq Ahmed, he was standing near the road waiting for a friend when the speeding Lamborghini first crashed into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle and then hit him. Ahmed was thrown several metres away and suffered serious injuries to his leg.
The FIR further states that instead of stopping after the initial impact, the driver allegedly attempted to flee the scene. Witnesses claimed that private bouncers accompanying him in another vehicle tried to shield him from the crowd and behaved aggressively. Enraged locals reportedly smashed the Lamborghini’s windows and pulled the driver out.
Police later arrived at the spot, carried out crowd control operations, and shifted the injured along with Mishra to a private hospital. The damaged Lamborghini was seized and taken to the police station as investigations into the incident continue.
