Digital Desk: Kaziranga's Panbari Reserved Forest, popularly known as the "Rainforest of Kazirnaga," has officially opened its doors to tourists starting today.
This pristine forest has been made accessible, particularly to cater to bird enthusiasts and researchers seeking to explore its rich biodiversity.
The initiative, undertaken by the Kaziranga National Park authorities, aims to promote and expand bird tourism in the region.
Panbari serves as a sanctuary for numerous bird species, with observation towers established to provide ornithologists and visitors with exceptional bird-watching opportunities.
Not just limited to birds, the forest is also a sanctuary for diverse array of wildlife species.
Tourists can explore the enchanting beauty of Panbari through jeep safaris offering a close experience of its natural splendor.
According to Director Sonali Ghosh, Panbari is home to approximately 300 bird species, including the Asian Fairy-bluebird, Great Indian Hornbill, Jerdon's Baza, Black Baza, Pied Falconet, and Ruby-cheecked Sunbird, among others.
Following the popularity of Kohora, Bagori, Burhapahar, and Agoratoli forest regions, Panbari is set to become one of the major tourist attractions in Kaziranga.
