Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl died by suicide, allegedly due to her addiction to Korean bands’ videos in Kerala’s Kallambalam.

"According to the girl's suicide note, she was depressed as her addiction to the bands' videos was impacting her schoolwork and she also had no friends," a senior police officer from Kallambalam Police Station said.

Until she was in Class 10, the 16-year-old girl excelled in her studies. However, she began to use her mother's phone to watch videos of Korean bands on YouTube after that. She lost contact with the outside world as a result, as well as her focus on her academics.

The incident reportedly took place on Saturday, when she locked herself in her room and refused to come out to eat.
