Digital Desk: Celebrity couple Kirron Kher and Anupam Kher are one of the most popular loved couples in Bollywood. The couple had been married for 36 years and are parents to a son Sikander, from Kiran's first marriage to Gautam Berry. Like any couple, the two have weathered numerous storms throughout these years and have always been rock solid since 1985.
Back in 2013, the legendary actress disclosed to Firstpost that their story began as a close friend and that they were married to separate individuals at the time. They used to be best friends, and both were engaged in a theatre group in Chandigarh. Further, Kirron confessed that they knew everything there was to know about one another.
After a few years of marriage, the couple faced financial hardships when Anupam borrowed money from friends in the industry to become a producer. Moreover, in the same interview, she also stated that they had a tough time and had to be brave enough to deal with the situation. It was that time when Kirron became the sole support of Anupam.
She added that Anupam had begun his entertainment company and was planning to produce for television, but that despite her warnings, he planned to expand it too soon.
"He shielded me from the fact that he borrowed a big amount of money to produce multiple shows. Then, eight of his performances were cancelled in less than a month. The money didn't come in for months because the TV directors were replaced with others. We have been in a mess financially. And his own career was on the decline, with him being typecast in poor comedic roles. I have to get serious about working for money." she said.
But in the end, Kirron explained how she handled the situation, stating that she was somewhere between an optimist and an ostrich.
