Digital Desk: On Saturday, a truck carrying nine army men plunged down a deep gorge in Ladakh, killing all of them.


"The death toll has risen to nine, with one injured," said Lt Col PS Sidhu, Defence PRO in Leh.


"The caravan was making its way from Leh to Kiari. "One vehicle went offroad, which caused the mishap," the defence spokesman stated.


Eight Army men have been reported to be dead after their vehicle crashed into a steep valley in Ladakh.


According to reports, the army team consisted of 311 Medium Regiment (artillery).


Reportedly, three officers, two JCOs, and 34 jawans were travelling in three vehicles: a Maruti Gypsy, a truck, and an ambulance.
