Digital Desk: In a significant act of resistance against terrorism in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), residents of a village compelled a terrorist and his associates to flee from the area after opposing their presence in the village.
Rizwan Hanif, an operative of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)-linked outfit, was confronted by locals in Kuiyaan village, prompting him and his aides to pull back from the area.
The incident marks a growing resistance for militant presence, with communities increasingly standing up against terrorists in the region.
The confrontation took place during the funeral of Habib Tahir, a terrorist killed by Indian Army in Harwan, Srinagar.
Rizwan Hanif attended the funeral despite objections from Habib Tahir's family. His presence sparked tensions and anger among the villagers, leading to their escape from the scene.
Following the incident, the residents of the village have announced a plan to convene a traditional community assembly called 'Jirga' to formulate a collective stance against terrorist recruitment and activities in the area.
