Pressed a gun against Mahadev’s neck and killed him before disposing of his body in the river
Digital Desk: A brutal incident has come to light from Rahmaria in Chabua, where a man was brutally murdered and his body dumped into the Brahmaputra River.
As per reports, a dispute broke out between two men , identified as Choga Majhi (55) and Mahadev Raut (60), while they were on a boat in the Balichapori area. The dispute reportedly escalated, and Choga allegedly pressed a gun against Mahadev’s neck and killed him before disposing of his body in the river.
SDRF has launched a search operation in the Brahmaputra based on the confession of Choga Majhi to recover the body of the victim.
Rahmaria Police have arrested Choga Majhi and sent him to jail. A case has been registered at Rahmaria Police Station (Case No. 16/2025) under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
