Digital Desk: In a horrific incident, a man killed his 5-year-old niece after she asked for a mango while he was having a meal.

According to reports, the incident took place in Kheda Kurtan village in UP's Shamli on Tuesday.

Moreover, reports by the Times of India (TOI) stated that frustrated by the girl's nagging, the accused hit her in the head with a rod and slit her throat, leaving her with severe bleeding. He allegedly put her body in a sack after that.

The victim, identified as Khairu Nisha, was a laborer's daughter who had gone missing in the afternoon.

According to TOI reports, Shyamvir Singh, the SHO for Kandhla, stated that "the accused even went with the locals to look for the girl but fled as soon as police suspected him."

It is to be noted that an FIR was filed against the accused under IPC section 302 based on the victim's father's allegation (murder). While conducting their investigation, officers found the girl's body in the residence of the accused, Umardeen. The suspect was taken into custody on Thursday night and was sent to jail on Friday.

ASP OP Singh from Shamli said, "A knife and an iron rod used in the murder were found on the culprit, Umardeen, who was arrested by police in a wooded area close to the hamlet. He was booked into jail."
