Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a man killed his daughter by hacking her to death, then tied her body to a bike before dumping it on railway tracks in Punjab's Amritsar district, police said.
According to reports, the man killed his 20-year-old daughter because she had spent the day away from home.
The accused has been identified as Bau, a Nihang Sikh, who works as a laborer. The incident took place on Thursday, and CCTV footage of the crime has also emerged.
According to an initial investigation, the accused killed his daughter as he had doubts about her character.
Police claim that Bau's daughter left the house on Wednesday without telling anybody else and came back on Thursday. Due to his anger, Bau beat up his daughter and killed her with a sharp-edged weapon when she returned home, a police official told PTI.
"We also received information that the accused confined his family members at home and threatened to kill them as well. Due to fear, they couldn’t leave the house," a police officer stated.
"After leaving home, my granddaughter returned on her own. Her father became angry when she came back, and he killed her," the victim's grandmother stated.
The man had been arrested after police filed a murder case against him.
