Imphal: The Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) seized a huge consignment of contraband substances in Manipur. The seized consignment contained ‘ice drug’ or crystal methamphetamine weighing 1 kg. The seized contraband is speculated to be worth Rs 2 crores.

A total of four persons have been arrested on charges of smuggling the substances. A woman was also arrested in connection to the seizure.

The NAB suspects the contraband to have been smuggled from Myanmar.

Lauding the efforts of the NAB and the police for the major haul, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh tweeted, “State Govt. achieving great success in busting the complicated drug racket. Today, the Narcotics and Affairs of Border has arrested three individuals along with 1 kg of suspected contraband Ice drug (crystal methamphetamine) which is worth over Rs 2 Cr.”
