Digital Desk: The Manipur government has filed a complaint against a few of the team members of the Editors Guild of India fact-finding team who had visited the state to report on the ongoing crisis.

An FIR has been filed in response to allegations that the team's report was "false, fabricated, and sponsored." The Information Technology (IT) Act's Section 66A is cited in the FIR.

While speaking on the issue on Monday, N. Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, warned the Editors Guild members to meet with representatives from all communities before publishing any reports.

CM Singh said, “I am giving a warning to the members of the Editors Guild, if you want to do something, then visit the spot, see the ground reality, meet the representatives of all communities and then publish what you found. Otherwise, meeting just a few sections and coming to a conclusion is highly condemnable.”

He added, “ The state government has filed an FIR against the members of the Editors Guild who are trying to create more clashes in the state of Manipur.”

On September 2 the Editors Guild of India released a report of its 'Fact-Finding Mission on Media’s Reportage of the Violence in Manipur.
