Singh further claimed that tension increased when the state government began taking action against narcotics cartels.

Digital Desk: N Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, reaffirmed that the state would strongly oppose the call for "separate administration for the Kuki inhabited areas."

The state government, he added, is not against the Kuki community, which has lived together in the state for a long time. He also threatened to take tough action against "illegal migrants (from Myanmar)."

After the Mizoram counterpart took part in a protest against the violence in Manipur, Singh also ordered him not to meddle in the "internal matters of another state."

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the office of the chief minister of Manipur, Singh condemned the use of "abusive words" against him during the Mizoram solidarity rally.

The statement read, "Singh called it a barbaric act." At a celebration honouring Kargil Vijay Divas held at the CM's Secretariat in Imphal, Singh remarked.

Numerous other Mizo organisations joined the prominent NGO Coordination Committee in organising the sympathy rally on Tuesday, which drew thousands of participants. The rally condemned the attacks and acts of violence against the Kuki Zomi communities in Manipur as well as the purported inability of the Biren Singh administration to ensure peace.

In light of the Kukis' shared ethnic ties with the Mizos, around 12,000 Kuki-Zomis who were displaced from Manipur have found shelter in Mizoram.

Singh further claimed that tension increased when the state government began taking action against narcotics cartels.

"He also issued a warning to those who are trying to harm Manipur's integrity. He stated that the government would not succumb to any threat," said the statement.
