Digital Desk: The Manipur government has extended the ban on Internet and data services for an extra five days until June 25 with immediate effect to avert any potential disruptions of public order and tranquility in light of the ongoing unrest in the state. The state's internet service ban will remain in effect for five more days, or until 3 p.m. on June 25, to a statement from the Manipur government on Tuesday stated.

The bench noted that particularly when it comes to the continuous admissions process for students, access to the internet is necessary for people to finish urgent and significant work. Justices Ahanthem Bimol Singh and A Guneshwar Sharma chose on Friday when they were deliberating on several Public Interest Litigations requesting the restoration of internet services in the state.
