Digital Desk: Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, has been called to appear in Assam about a libel lawsuit. According to reports, Manish Sisodia made accusations about PPE kits against the Assam Chief Minister. According to reports, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, was "helpful" in the provision of PPE kits, according to Manish Sisodia.

Himanta Biswa Sarma sued Sisodia for defamation in July under Sections 499, 500, and 501 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), saying that the latter committed fraud when awarding a contract for the supply of PPE kits.

Sarma allegedly placed urgent supply orders for PPE kits during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 at a cost of 990 per piece to businesses in which his wife and son were partners, while the state government bought those kits from other businesses at a reduced cost.

Manish Sisodia is currently facing extra difficulties as one of his close advisors, Dinesh Arora, is apparently now a government witness. One of the co-accused in the alleged scheme involving a liquor excise duty is Dinesh Arora.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reports that Dinesh Arora has consented to testify for the government in the liquor policy case. Businessman Dinesh Arora was granted bail last week by a Delhi court, and the CBI did not object to the decision.

A businessman will be a witness for the CBI in the liquor excise duty case, according to a petition the agency filed in a Delhi court.

According to the top investigation agency, Arora cooperated with the authorities and provided important information that aided them in the current inquiry.

The Enforcement Directorate has in the meantime detained Manish Sisodia's personal assistant during a raid at his home in relation to the Delhi's excise policy case.
