Digital Desk: In a tragic incident one person lost his life after he was electrocuted in one location near Umiam bridge under Mawlai Police Station. The incident occurred on 28 January at around 5:30 pm.
According to the reports, the deceased person is identified as Rishanlang Muktieh (25) and he was a resident of Ladlasharai village in Ri Bhoi District who had been deployed as a security man at the repairing work of the Umiam bridge.
It may be mentioned that on January 28 evening, he went to collect firewood from a place near a transformer of the ITD Cementation India Limited at Umiam but unfortunately, he met with an electric wire and was electrocuted, he was rushed to Shillong Civil Hospital but later he succumbed to his injuries.
