The health minister reassures the public not to panic, mentioning that they have successfully managed the situation...

Digital Desk: As many as  44 dengue cases have been confirmed in Meghalaya, resulting in one fatality.

Additionally, the flatlands of the Garo Hills are where most of these instances are concentrated.

Ampareen Lyngdoh, the health minister, reassures the public not to panic, mentioning that they have successfully managed the situation.

However, she emphasizes how crucial it is to take the appropriate safety measures. Lyngdoh encourages those with a persistent fever to go to the nearest testing facility for an accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Only 2 of the 7 tests that were performed on October 12 resulted in positive findings. The person who passed away was a male patient from West Garo Hills who was admitted to the hospital but suddenly passed due to dengue. Due to a brain hemorrhage brought on by dengue hemorrhagic fever, another person was killed.

Lyngdoh declares, "We have successfully contained the instances, treating those impacted as necessary. We do not expect an increase in cases. We have 44 cases from October 3 to yesterday, which were probably made worse by the recent flooding and severe rain."

All districts have received warnings from the health department to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Communities, bars, and other stakeholders are all actively being engaged by them. Officers in the medical block are instructed to respond to cases as soon as they are instructed.
