Villagers have approached district officials to get rid of the stray dogs, but nothing has been done to catch the canines and ensure children's safety.
Digital Desk: On Thursday, a pack of stray dogs attacked Sahiba, a 12-year-old girl from the Saharanpur district's Nalhera village. On Friday, the severely mauled child died as a result of her injuries while being treated in a hospital.
Within a month, four incidents occurred in which stray dogs attacked children, killing three of them.

Sahiba was returning to her village from a local fair in Chilkana town with other girls her age when the latest incident occurred.
A pack of stray dogs attacked the girls, who managed to flee, but Sahiba was bitten multiple times. Passers-by saved her and alerted her family in the village. She was taken to a village doctor, who released her after providing initial care. Her condition worsened the next day, and she was taken to a hospital in Saharanpur, where she died from her injuries while being treated.
Sahiba was the third child in a month to die as a result of an attack by stray dogs in the district.
On April 4, stray dogs attacked Shifa, a 4-year-old girl from Chilkana's Buddhkhera village. Her body was ripped apart by the dogs, and she died on the spot.
In another incident, 3-year-old Koyal, the daughter of Lokendra of Jhadawan village in the Titron area of the district, died on April 7 after being attacked by stray dogs outside her home.
On April 17, the canines also attacked and injured Javed, a 13-year-old boy from the district's Barthakayasth village.
Kinshuk Srivastava, sub-divisional magistrate of Sadar area, stated that the civic body in the district lacked a dog catcher cell and was attempting to contact dog catchers in neighbouring districts in order to relocate the stray dogs.
