Today's explosion occurred in Laliana village, Jammu district. The police in Jammu and Kashmir have launched an investigation into the nature of the Blast.


Digital Desk: On Sunday, an explosion was reported in a field 12 kilometres from the site of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Jammu and Kashmir.


According to a report, today's explosion occurred in Laliana village, Jammu district. The police in Jammu and Kashmir have launched an investigation into the nature of the Blast.


According to Chandan Kohli, senior superintendent of police in Jammu, a meteorite or lightning caused a crater in the Laliana village. The police also stated that the explosion appears to be unrelated to terrorism.


Security has already been tightened in Jammu and Kashmir following a terrorist attack on a bus carrying security personnel in Sunjwan on Friday, killing two Jaish terrorists and one security personnel.


Amid multi-tier security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate India's first 'carbon neutral panchayat' to the nation on Sunday and inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 20,000 crore to help Jammu and Kashmir's rapid development.


Modi is in town for the Panchayat Raj Diwas at Palli Gram Panchayat in the Samba district. The prime minister's first visit to J&K since Article 370 was repealed on August 5, 2019.
