Imphal: India’s weightlifting star Mirabai Chanu was seen celebrating her birthday after returning from the Tokyo Olympics 2020. It was a special birthday for her as she had her family with her and also coming home after winning an Olympic Medal.
"Glad to celebrate my birthday with my family after such a long time. This birthday became even more special as I received my biggest reward in form of my Olympic medal," she tweeted along with pictures with her family.
She was the first one to win an Olympic Medal this year at the Tokyo Olympics which ended on 8th August.
“I have made many sacrifices to reach here. To be a big player or achieve something big you have to make sacrifices and I have made many” she said.
She also mentioned that she had to miss her sister’s wedding as she was preparing for the 2017 World Championship after failing at the Rio Olympics.
