Mizoram demonstrates a dedication to financial discipline and fair play in the electoral process with the seizure of only Rs 49.6 crore in cash...

Digital Desk: Data issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) shows that Mizoram stands out among the five poll-bound states as having the least amount of cash seized. The exceptional track record of Mizoram contrasts sharply with the combined seizures of more than Rs 1,760 crore from the states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Telangana.

Mizoram demonstrates a dedication to financial discipline and fair play in the electoral process with the seizure of only Rs 49.6 crore in cash. The extensive information includes cash, alcohol, trinkets, precious metals, and drugs that were seized in all five of the states. This comprehensive approach reflects Mizoram's dedication to upholding the democratic process's integrity.

Even though no cash was seized, Mizoram was closely monitored in other areas. Proactive action by the Election Commission resulted in the seizure of pharmaceuticals valued at Rs 29.82 crore, booze valued at Rs 4.67 crore, and freebies worth Rs 15.16 crore. This comprehensive strategy highlights the state's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the democratic process.

The EC is working outside of Mizoram to guarantee free and fair elections. The entire amount of over Rs 1,760 crore that was seized from all five states demonstrates how hard the Election Commission has worked to stop illicit activities and inducements during the voting process.

The Election Commission praises the achievement of Mizoram's exceptional fiscal prudence to the Election Expenditure Monitoring System (ESMS), a technology-driven program that promotes improved coordination and monitoring between federal and state law enforcement agencies.

Electoral rights have already been exercised by Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, but Rajasthan and Telangana are scheduled to vote on November 25 and 26, respectively.
