After India's match versus Sri Lanka on November 2, actress Payal Ghosh tweeted on her X handle that has now gone viral. Shami's outstanding performance, with his unplayable swinging deliveries culminating in a five-wicket haul in only five overs and reducing Kusal Mendis' side to just 55 runs, was responsible. The actress was really moved by this amazing performance. As a result, Payal Ghosh proposed marriage to the great Indian sprinter.

However, the actress while proposing the marriage put forward an unusual condition that piqued the interest of the Internet users, she said, “Shami Tum apna English sudharlo, I’m ready to marry you (Shami, improve your English, I’m ready to marry you.”
Despite the actress's playful proposal, social media users reacted quickly. Payal is from Kolkata and is a graduate of Scottish Church College.
