The Monsoon session of 2017
came to a turbulent conclusion as opposition parties splintered both Houses
over the government's refusal to allow debate on the Pegasus spying scandal,
the farmers' demonstrations, and the hike in costs, particularly for motor
gasoline.
With a productivity of barely 21%, the monsoon session of 2021 was the third least productive Lok Sabha session during the previous two decades. The Rajya Sabha had its ninth least productive session since 1999 with a production rate of 28%.
