The day is dedicated to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a prominent physician and the second chief minister of West Bengal, whose birthday and death anniversary both fall on the same day. He had the opinion that the only individual capable of achieving India's liberation, or Swaraj, was one who was in good physical and mental condition.

Digital Desk: It is noteworthy to observe that different countries commemorate Doctors' Day on different days. Depending on the commemorative event used to mark the day, the date differs each nation. In India, the special day is marked on July 1. National Doctors' Day was initially observed in 1991, and since then, it has been observed annually throughout the nation.

The day also marks the birth and departure of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a physician who served as West Bengal's second chief minister.

Family Doctors on the Front Line is National Doctors Day 2022's theme.

The theme is dedicated to all the medical professionals who have selflessly and unquestioningly helped us and our families while we were in the most desperate need. With unmatched compassion and integrity, healthcare professionals from all across the world have been waging a war against the coronavirus. In addition to exposing themselves to the disease, they worked overtime, avoided seeing their families, and occasionally put their own lives in danger.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) organises the annual "National Doctors' Day" celebration in India on July 1.

How is National Doctors' Day celebrated?

National Doctors' Day has been observed by government and non-government healthcare organisations for a number of years to highlight the contributions of doctors. This organisation runs patient awareness campaigns, debate events, and honorary awards for doctors in addition to hosting free medical check-up camps.

Along with health counselling, health nutrition talks, and chronic disease awareness campaigns, general screening test camps are also organised to evaluate the health state of the elderly and the underprivileged. Additionally, many colleges and schools host activities to inspire young people to select and pursue a profession in medicine.

Health tech businesses have established a variety of ways to honour the incredible tenacity and power of doctors, not falling short in the race of accolades. While some honour our "white coat fighters" by publishing a magazine or personally facilitating events, others also use a little token of appreciation.

Since God cannot be seen, it is true to say that "God's contextual profile can be seen in the faces of doctors who save us and help us live better lives."

National Doctors' Day 2022: History

The day is dedicated to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a prominent physician and the second chief minister of West Bengal, whose birthday and death anniversary both fall on the same day. He had the opinion that the only individual capable of achieving India's liberation, or Swaraj, was one who was in good physical and mental condition.

Therefore, the purpose of Doctors' Day is to celebrate Dr. Roy as well as to recognise everyone in the medical profession for their tireless work and commitment to patients.
