The Morigaon District Journalist Association (MDJA) recently organised a special farewell event for the outgoing District Commissioner, Anamika Tewari, at her official residence in Morigaon on Saturday. This cordial gathering highlighted the collaborative spirit often shared between local media and the district administration.
DC Anamika Tewari, who has been a prominent figure in the district's governance, along with her husband, Additional Chief Secretary Ajoy Tewari, extended a warm welcome to the attending members of the journalist association. The event saw the president and secretary of the MDJA felicitating both the esteemed guests. In a touching display of Assamese tradition, a `gamusa`, the symbolic hand-woven towel of honour and respect, was presented to both the Additional Chief Secretary and the District Commissioner.
Beyond the formal felicitations, the hosts ensured a comfortable and welcoming environment, arranging breakfast for all the journalists present. Such interactions are not just ceremonial; they serve to strengthen the crucial bond between the press and the administration, fostering mutual understanding essential for effective governance and transparent public communication within the district.
