Dipali is one of the accused of her son, Mrinmoy Barman's murder. Another accused, Jitumoni Haloi, is also in police custody.
Jitumoni murdered Mrinmoy at Indira Nagar in Basistha by strangling him to death. He then stuffed the body in a trolley bag and dumped it in a jungle near the Basistha Temple.
Several footage of surveillance cameras have emerged related to the shocking murder case, where Jitumoni was seen picking up Class 5 student Mrinmoy from tuition in Bongaon on his motorcycle. He then bought the child cold drinks at a shop.
In another footage, Jitumoni filled petrol into his bike at the Bhetapara petrol pump.
Jitumoni had been romantically involved with Mrinmoy's mother Dipali.
Jitumoni had divorced his wife due to his extramarital affair with Dipali. Similarly, Dipali also left her husband Bikash Barman for Jitumoni.
During the heinous crime, Jitumoni's phone was allegedly connected to Dipali.
