Digital Desk: Assam chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently commented on his relationship with the opposition party, Congress. While explaining his statement, the minister stated that even though he is now a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), his relationship with Congress has not changed considerably.

He claimed that he has been a member of the party for the past 22 years and that the relationship won't end abruptly. Further, he asserted that he runs 50% of the Congress, emphasizing the fact that many leaders and party members seek his opinion on a variety of problems. He honestly shares his opinions with them without charging a single penny," added the CM.

He also stated that he has paved the way for many youths and aspirant politicians in the political realm. After that, the BJP leader discussed about Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Further, he claimed that there is now no election scenario in Assam, thus it is pointless to criticize the opposition party. The state would support and provide security for the Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra, much as it previously did for the Maharashtra ministers.

Later, he mentioned about Kharge's visit, who will be assisted and secured by the Assam government's responsible department.

However, the CM criticized Congress for attempting to raise an issue in Parliament about the clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh on December 9. The Congress has demanded a discussion in the parliament and said that the statement given by Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh was 'incomplete'.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma further urged that any public discussion on the conflict be limited because the Chinese may get an advantage after analyzing the Indians' discussion. 'We stand with our army,' he said at the end of the discussion.
